So, you're a book-lover who loves to read new books? Then this is the book swap site for you!
It's as easy as 1-2-3!
Step 1 - You select a book that you would like from one of the categories in our library on the left-hand side of the Home Page and request a swap.
The Kiwi Book Swap member who owns that book receives an email saying that you would like to swap.
Step 2 - The other user logs onto our website and views your list of books. If this member finds a book he or she likes, they will confirm the swap.
You will receive an email saying that the swap has been confirmed, along with the address to which you need to post the selected book.
Step 3 - The member with whom you have swapped also receives an email confirming the swap, along with your postal address.
Both members post their books to each other within 3 days. When the books are received, each person logs on to our website to confirm they have received the book and they rate the swap.
Kiwi Book Swap is a Member-only book exchange website that allows you to swap books you don't want for the books that you do.
- Do you want something new to read for the price of postage?
- Are you looking for Recent or New Release books to read?
- Would you like to try new Authors for a minimal postage cost?
- All you have to do is become a member of Kiwi Book Swap, register your books and then swap them with other readers in New Zealand. It's that simple!
- And remember, it's completely free to swap books, as long as your Membership is up to date. All you pay for is the postage of sending a book.
- There are no other costs involved, no points to build up, no credits, no success fees, no listing fees or any other hidden costs'.
If you love reading and regularly buy books, you'll know that new books are expensive. Even when you buy second-hand books on-line, you usually pay huge postage and packaging charges.
Swapping with your family or friends offers you a very limited range of books - what if you don't like their taste in books?
Once you've finished reading a book, just register it with Kiwi Book Swap and then find a book that you want to read. If someone has a book you like, you can
arrange to swap through our website.

Firstly, register some books you no longer want. Then find a book you would like to read in one of the categories of our Library on the left-hand side of the Home page. Click 'Request book'. This will send your request to the owner of the book. He or she will automatically be invited to view a list of all the books you have registered with Kiwi Book Swap. If you have registered a book the other member wants, he or she will agree to swap books with you.
For further information on the swapping process see
swapping section.
Once the Member has agreed to swap, you will be sent an email showing the other user's postal address and details of the book he or she wants from you. Just post him or her this book. In return, you should receive your chosen book in the post a few days after you requested the swap.
There is always an option to reject the swap. So if you don't want to swap your books with another user, you simply Decline Swap. This ensures every user gets a book they really want to read.
Cost And Postage
Go to the "Register Now" page to take advantage of our FREE 60-Day Trial! Thereafter, membership is $49.95 per annum, payable online by Credit Card. (Direct Credit option is available on request, however this could take up to three days for processing). This is the approximate price of ONE New Release or Best Seller. You will receive an e-mail from Kiwi Book Swap at least a month before your registration expires, reminding you to renew your Membership.
Unlike other sites, we don't charge listing fees, success fees or any commission on the swaps. The only other cost involved
is the postage of sending your books to other Members - and that's the price of the stamps you buy. We don't make money from inflated postage charges that are cunningly higher than the real cost.
Most paperbacks are around 300 pages or less, and weigh less than 500gms.
NZ Post Parcel Post indications:
Standard Parcel Post (for items up to 1.5kg, and 70mm thick)
- C5 size (Paperbacks) $3.00 (Tracked Package $4.00)
- C4 size (Larger Paperbacks, Hardbacks or Annuals) $4.00. Tracked $5.00
You can find a full range of postal charges on the NZ Post Website

We strongly advise that you place your book in a plastic bag or bubble wrap to protect it from getting wet in case the packaging gets ripped. If the book is packed in an envelope, tape it into a neat parcel shape to prevent it from getting ripped. The padded envelopes available at Post Shops are ideal for this purpose.
